Any time you are diving at 300m to 3000m above sea level, you are altitude diving. If you want to explore the hidden world of a mountain lake or simply explore your local inland diving sites, the PADI Altitude Diver Specialty course is for you.
PADI (Junior) Open Water Divers who are at least 10 years old are eligible to take the Altitude Diver course.
Course Outline
You'll learn how diving at altitude affects your body at lower pressure and how pressure changes at altitude depending on your height above sea level, aswell as how to plan for dives at different altitudes.
During two scuba dives, you’ll:
- Altitude dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards
- Recreational Dive PlannerTM procedures for diving at altitude
- Safety stops and emergency decompression procedures at altitude

By completing this course you will also be one step closer to achieving the covenant title of Master Scuba Diver and joining the elite group of divers.
Equipment
Beyond using standard scuba equipment, you may need a dry suit for the cool water. Your Phoenix Instructor may suggest additional equipment depending on the dive site features and visibility.
