Want to stay warm? Want to extend your scuba diving season? Then consider doing your PADI Dry Suit Diver Course. A dry suit seals you off from the water and keeps you comfortable and warm, even in surprisingly cold water. There is incredible diving in the world’s cooler regions and in some areas, conditions are even better in colder months. Becoming a dry suit diver allows you to expand your boundaries and dive more places, more often.

To enroll in this course:

  • Be at least age 10 or older
  • Be a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver (or similar from another diving agency)

Course Outline

The first thing you’ll discover is which dry suit style and accompanying undergarments are right for you and the diving you’ll do at the time. Then you’ll learn how to take care of your dry suit. During two dives, in addition to a confined water dive, you’ll practice:

  • Putting on and taking off your dry suit with minimal assistance.
  • Mastering buoyancy control using your dry suit.
  • Dive safety procedures when using a dry suit.

Get credit:

The first dive of this PADI Specialty Diver course may credit as an Adventure Dive towards your Advanced Open Water Diver certification – ask your instructor about earning credit.

By completing this course you will also be one step closer to achieving the covenant title of Master Scuba Diver and joining the elite group of divers.

Equipment

Clearly a dry suit is necessary along with your basic scuba equipment. Your Phoenix Divers Instructor will explain other gear or equipment options you may need to dive comfortably with your dry suit. For example, because you’re more buoyant in a dry suit than in a wetsuit, you may want a different weight system setup.

Getting Started

As soon as you sign up (added the course to your cart and payment cleared) with Phoenix Divers to do your PADI Dry Suit Course, you will receive an email with the learning information you need.

You will also receive a PADI Dry Suit Diver Manual and Dry Suit Diving video. By reading the manual and watching the video before class, you’ll be ready to get into the water with your instructor and start practicing with your dry suit.

Your Phoenix Divers PADI Instructor will then contact you about scheduling time for practical training.

  • This course requires 2 - 3 practical days of assessment
  • Normally over weekends but possible for during the week training
